The Heavy Snow at Hida Folk Village

❄️Hida Folk Village|In the Heavy Snow

I don’t really delve into whether this folk village is a man-made attraction, but the buildings inside are somewhat similar to Shirakawa-go.
Although you need to buy a ticket, taking a stroll around during a heavy snowfall creates a very beautiful atmosphere.

📍Address: Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture
⏰Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Winter snow scenery is super healing)
It takes about an hour to walk 🚶 from JR Takayama Station. Because of the snow, walking is slow and you need to be careful not to slip;
There is also a bus 🚍 you can take—remember to check the schedule;
You can also choose a taxi 🚕.
However, the last return bus is very early, so if you want to wait for the evening light-up, you must book a taxi 🚖 in advance or walk 🚶 back yourself.
Tickets are purchased separately, and prices differ before and after the light-up. If you want to enter during the day and stay until evening, you can buy a combined ticket.

🕰Tips:
If you want to save money and see both before and after the light-up, you can buy a night ticket around 5:30 PM! You can enter before the light-up and stay until after it.

🌸Avoid Pitfalls:
• Wear non-slip shoes on snowy days! The stone paths are very slippery with snow.
• Souvenirs: It’s cheaper to buy the “Hida Baby Monkey” outside the scenic area.
• After 3 PM, the soft light is best for portrait photography.
