When you come to Takayama, Japan, you can't miss this place where time seems to have stopped - [Hida no Sato]. There are dozens of traditional Gassho-zukuri and thatched houses here, each of which is a cultural heritage migrated from the mountain villages of Hida, as if walking into the rural years of Edo and Meiji.
I walked slowly along the winding path, seeing the heavy roof of the old Wakayama family residence, the old Nishioka family of silkworm breeding, and then the humming of the waterwheel hut, and the sound of rural cooking and childhood play seemed to ring in my ears. There is also an exhibition hall displaying toys and Showa desks and chairs, taking you through the daily life of the past countryside at once.
Here, you are not only looking at buildings, but also reading a three-dimensional Hida local chronicle.
