[Baling Tower, Taoyuan, Taiwan] 1314 meters above sea level, a highland spot for couples to show off their love

The Baling Tower is built on a high ground at an altitude of 1,314 meters. As the name suggests, it means love "for a lifetime." The original site of the Baling Iron Tower is actually the remains of the heavily guarded Malun Fort on Baling Mountain during the Japanese occupation period. Many Atayal people fought against the Japanese in this area. Later, the Fuxing District Office invested NT$13 million to revitalize the fort ruins and built a new landmark, the Baling Tower, which symbolizes diligence and freedom.

The red iron tower is modeled after the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. The diamond-shaped design on the tower symbolizes the protection of the eyes of the Atayal ancestors. The tower is about 10 stories high and is decorated with colorful LED lights. Although the construction of the Baling Tower was once controversial, the tower is indeed dazzling when it shines under the night sky. Whether it is beautiful or ugly, abrupt or redundant, it is up to you to come to Lala Mountain and experience it with your own eyes.
