Fuxi Temple: A Journey to the Roots of Chinese Civilization

Located in Xiguan, Tianshui, Gansu Province, Fuxi Temple is a sacred site dedicated to the cultural ancestor of the Chinese people. Built during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty, this ancient architectural complex is the largest and best-preserved site for Fuxi worship in China.

While visiting Tianshui, don't miss the local delicacies such as Tianshui Liangpi (cold noodles), crispy Tianshui Guokui (flatbread), fragrant Guagua Noodles, and the uniquely flavored "Eight Bowls" dishes, offering a cultural feast for your taste buds.

Every year on the 13th day of the fifth lunar month, said to be Fuxi's birthday, a grand public ceremony is held at the temple. Chinese people from around the world gather here to honor their roots and ancestors in a solemn and majestic event. Throughout the year, folk rituals and pilgrimages to Guatai Mountain also take place, showcasing the enduring vitality of Chinese culture.
