“Sensō-ji Temple”

The oldest temple in Tokyo that still carries the Edo atmosphere

Sensō-ji Temple is considered the most sacred and oldest temple in Tokyo, established in 645 AD, and has become one of the temples visited by millions of people worldwide every year.

Walk through the Kaminarimon Gate or "Thunder Gate," distinguished by a huge red lantern (3.9 meters tall, weighing about 700 kilograms) decorated with the gods Fujin and Raijin guarding it.

Then stroll along Nakamise-dōri Street, about 250 meters long, lined with over 90 shops selling souvenirs and traditional Japanese sweets (opening around 9–10 AM).
