[Kyoto Prefecture] Shrine where rabbits bring good fortune

Uji Shrine ⛩️
𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃
A shrine located near the Asagiri Bridge 🌁 on the Uji River.
Further ahead, there is Ujikami Shrine, which used to be one shrine.
Uji Shrine was called Shimosha or Wakamiya, and Ujikami Shrine was called Kamisha or Honmiya, but they were separated due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism in the Meiji period.
And so it is today.

At Uji Shrine, there is a symbol called the "Looking Back Rabbit 🐇" 🙌
When the enshrined deity, Ujinowakiiratsuko, was lost,
a rabbit appeared and looked back at him, guiding him on the way.

This is based on the story of a rabbit that appeared and looked back at him, guiding him on the way.

This rabbit🐇 can be seen in front of the main hall,
and is featured as a goshuin (red seal) and as an ornament for fortune-telling slips😉
