Urumqi | If you only have one day, go to the Grand Bazaar.

💯 Must-do things at the Grand Bazaar

✅ Enjoy a pot of local mint tea at the Old Teahouse
➡️ The Old Teahouse has many photo spots, and sometimes an NPC grandpa will play the dombra. Besides tea, the food here is also good, especially the milk skin salad.
Ps. The Muziguli Ice Cream Shop on the first floor is also a great photo spot.

✅ Check out the ubiquitous Afanti and his donkey
➡️ The Afanti BBQ Park has a high "Afanti content," and the cutest is the giant Afanti and his donkey on the roof. Of course, there are many Afanti statues in different shapes throughout the Grand Bazaar.

✅ Climb the No. 1 Sightseeing Tower for a bird's-eye view of the city
🎫 CNY 39/person. If you have enough time, you can go up and enjoy the city view. There is also a folk culture photo exhibition in the tower.

✅ Bargain in the dazzling shops
➡️ There are many kinds of goods in the Grand Bazaar, but remember to shop around and bargain. Some handmade vases are similar to those I saw in the Middle East, but they are much more exquisite and expensive. You can try to bargain.

✅ Try all the food in the Grand Bazaar
➡️ The lamb skewers, baked buns, and naan pit roast meat are really good, and there are many novel foods I have never seen before: a whole sheep's head, oil cake, and naan coffee.

🏠 Accommodation recommendation
Kaisite Hotel, over CNY 300 per night, is a few hundred meters away from the Grand Bazaar, with a great location.
🙁 But the decoration is a bit old, and the facilities are damaged to varying degrees. But due to its superior location, it is still cost-effective.
