🌿 Upper Barrakka Gardens – Valletta’s Best Viewpoint

If you ever find yourself in need of a quick Mediterranean escape, Malta is a gem that delivers more than you'd expect in just 1.5 days. Here’s how I spent mine — short, sweet, and absolutely unforgettable.
1️⃣ Blue Lagoon – A Slice of Heaven
You simply cannot visit Malta without heading to the iconic Blue Lagoon. The water here is unreal — a crystal-clear turquoise that looks like it’s been photoshopped in real life.
It takes about an hour by ferry from Sliema, and boats usually leave in the morning and return around 5 PM. Trust me, you won’t notice the time passing. Between swimming in the waters, relaxing under a parasol, sipping the famous pineapple cocktail, and just soaking in the breathtaking scenery, the day melts away.
2️⃣ Upper Barrakka Gardens – A View to Remember
Tucked above Valletta, the Upper Barrakka Gardens offer one of the best panoramic views in Malta.
Overlooking the Grand Harbour, it’s the perfect spot for a quiet moment, especially during golden hour. The contrast of old stone walls with the deep blue sea and sky is just stunning.
3️⃣ Forty Fishes – Seafood Done Right
(174 Triq Ross, Saint STJ 3246, Malta)
We ended the day at Forty Fishes, a well-loved seafood spot in St. Julian’s. The menu is packed with fresh, flavorful options. We tried the grilled octopus (a must!) and the sea bass, both nicely cooked. They also serve great local craft beers, which pair perfectly with the food. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the side portions were generous. It was a relaxed and enjoyable meal — just the kind of place you want after a day of exploring.
