🎨🏛️ Majestic Treasures at the Vatican Museums (Musei Vaticani) ✨

#hellohalloween

Located in the heart of Rome within the sovereign territory of the Vatican City, the Vatican Museums are among the most extraordinary art and cultural institutions in the world. Founded in the early 16th century by Pope Julius II following the discovery of the “Laocoön and His Sons” sculpture, these museums now house tens of thousands of works collected by popes over centuries.

Inside you’ll find a breathtaking range of masterpieces: ancient Roman and Greek statues such as the Belvedere Torso, the iconic frescoes in the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo, the elegantly painted Stanze di Raffaello (Raphael Rooms), the Galerie of Maps, the Pius-Clementine Museum and the distinct modern religious art collection featuring works by van Gogh, Chagall, de Chirico and others.

Visiting the Vatican Museums is both awe-inspiring and requiring planning: timed-entry tickets are strongly recommended to avoid long queues, and visitors should allow 2–3 hours or more depending on how deeply they wish to explore. Modest dress is required, and note that photography is prohibited in the Sistine Chapel.
