[Northern Hokkaido Tour] A trip around the northern tip of Japan

I took a drive around the northern part of Hokkaido, so please use it as a reference!

How to get there:
Depart from Haneda Airport at 10:40, arrive at Wakkanai Airport at 12:30
ANA has a direct flight, so it's convenient.
There are two flights a day during the summer schedule (departing from Haneda Airport at 12:35), but I chose the earlier one.

Drive:
At Wakkanai Airport, you can find a full range of rental cars, including Nippon Rent-A-Car, Toyota Rent-A-Car, and Times Car.
If you want to drop off the car in Wakkanai city, it's a good idea to check the location of the store where you will be dropping it off at the same time (basically it's convenient to be near JR Wakkanai Station).

Route:
I traveled clockwise from Wakkanai Airport.
(Start at 12:30)

・Cape Soya
A famous spot with the northernmost monument.
A little further up is a restaurant called Mamiyado, which is famous for its scallop ramen, so I recommend it.
It comes with a whole large scallop.

・Sarufutsuku Roadside Station

Sarufutsuku Village is famous for being the northernmost village and a wealthy village.

The Sarufutsu milk I bought at the souvenir shop at the roadside station was delicious.

・Esanuka Line

It is famous for the road that stretches to the horizon, but the view is not very beautiful when the weather is bad.

Too bad.

・Nakatonbetsu Cave Nature Park

There was a staff member on duty, but you could visit for free.

The road to the cave is longer than the inside of the cave.

It is cool inside the cave, so it is a good idea to bring long sleeves.

・Reindeer Farm

You can interact with reindeer.

They sell food, but the only water source is inside the building, so if you go just before closing time, it is difficult to wash your hands.

・Toyotomi Onsen (Finish line: around 5:30 p.m.)

Toyotomi Onsen is famous for its moor springs.

It was a perfect finish line for the trip.

I went around northern Hokkaido in half a day.
Please use it as a reference!
*Please note that the situation is different in winter.
