It's not that Sanya isn't worth it, but Wanning offers better value for money

🚗Taxi: Use ride-hailing apps for daily travel, but avoid unlicensed taxis that solicit passengers on the street without meters—you'll get ripped off! Wanning is easy to hail rides in.
🛵E-bike: Rent an e-bike for nearby destinations—¥30/hour or ¥70/day. Bargain-savvy folks can try to negotiate the price down further.
🏨Hotels: For convenience, stayed at a homestay in Riyue Bay on the first night (lively at night), then moved to the Sheraton in Shenzhou Peninsula for the next two days—close to nearby attractions (hotel choices vary by budget; budget travelers can opt for homestays).

☑️Attraction Tips
❶Riyue Bay is packed with photo spots: seaside cafes, the ultra-photogenic White Chapel, lively bars at night, and coconut-lined roads. Rent a "Baga car" (tricycle) for a fun time.
❷Rongchuang Chapel is on Riyue Island near Riyue Bay. Though not far, take an e-bike—don’t walk! It’s a 30-minute trek.
❸For Shenzhou Peninsula, take a shuttle (¥20/person round-trip) or rent an e-bike. E-bikes are better—you’ll pass a stunning coconut-lined road to the lighthouse, perfect for photo stops.
❹Qiaohai Pasture, dubbed "Hainan’s Little Altay," is photogenic in good weather, but the surroundings aren’t great (think livestock smells). Only a few spots are Instagram-worthy.
❺Yanzidong at Shanqin Bay is remote—about an hour from Riyue Bay. The black reef photos are stunning, but transport is tricky. Drive yourself if possible.
❻Bali Village: Just snap photos at the entrance. Paying to enter isn’t worth it—costumes cost extra, and the structures are artificial.

♨️Travel Tips
1. Wanning has four main areas: Riyue Bay, Shimei Bay, Shenzhou Peninsula, and Xinglong Town. If not driving, explore one area per day—each requires highway travel. Adventurous souls can bike the island loop (if they don’t mind the sun).
2. In Riyue Bay and Shenzhou Peninsula, Snoopy/Strawberry Bear tricycles cost ¥50/hour—pricey and hard to bargain. Upside: great photos! Downside: Scratches mean fines. Some e-bikes lack plates and can’t leave Riyue Bay (police will stop you).
3. July temps hit around 30°C (86°F). Sunny skies are guaranteed, but sunscreen is a must—especially for water sports. Slip up, and you’ll earn Hainan’s signature "black gloves" (sunburn)!
