Fangzi Town
Fangzi Town, located in Fangzi District, Weifang City, Shandong Province, is the earliest relic of modern industrial development in Shandong and the birthplace of modern industry in Weifang. The town developed along both sides of the Fangzi section of the Jiaoji Railway and was once a colony of Germany and Japan. In 1898, after Germany occupied Jiaozhou Bay, they built a large number of buildings in Fangzi District, Weixian County, and established a train station there (then named Fangzi Station). In 1914, with the outbreak of World War I, Japan declared war on Germany and seized Fangzi Train Station and Fangzi Coal Mine, further expanding the town's scale and forming the pattern of "three north-south roads and ten miles of foreign concessions from east to west."
*Main attractions: Fangzi Town currently has 166 German and Japanese-style buildings, including 103 German-style buildings and 63 Japanese-style buildings. These buildings have various styles and are full of exotic charm, such as the German military headquarters, German military hospital, train station, telegraph building, post office, nun's building, church, school, barracks, senior officer villa area, etc., forming a complete colonial system. In recent years, the restored areas are mainly in the south, with attractions like 1898 Beer City, Yokota Inn, and Fangzi Gallery already completed, and the German military hospital and German military headquarters are being renovated.
* Town features
① Witness of historical culture.
② Unique architectural style.
③ Filming location of the popular TV series "South to North."
④ Creation of an ecological town.
