A must-visit C-spot attraction on Gulangyu Island, Xiamen — Sunlight Rock✨
📍Location: No. 62 Huangyan Road (in the central-southern part of Gulangyu Island)
⏰Opening hours:
🌞Summer (June to September): 08:30-18:00
🍂Winter (October to May): 08:30-17:30

【History facts】📚
- Sunlight Rock stands at an altitude of 92.7 meters, with two huge stones leaning against each other like a dragon’s head
- The name has a story: Zheng Chenggong compared it to Japan’s Nikko Mountain and its geographic feature of welcoming the first sunrise
- The "Gulang Dongtian" inscription by Ding Yizhong from the Ming Dynasty and the "First of Lujiang" inscription by Lin Cheng from the Qing Dynasty are both worth checking out
- The dragon head mountain fortress gate and the Water Drill Platform ruins from Zheng Chenggong’s era are still there! Full of historical vibes!
📸Photo tips:
1️⃣It’s recommended to stay on the island or arrive early! Before 9 AM, there are fewer people and better lighting🌤️
2️⃣Clouds and mist on rainy days create a unique atmosphere (but be careful)
3️⃣The mountaintop offers amazing distant views! You can capture panoramic views of Gulangyu Island and the sea🌊
4️⃣Culture lovers must shoot: various ancient inscriptions and Sunlight Rock Temple (the natural "one-tile" stone cave architecture is very special)
👗Outfit suggestions:
- Light-colored clothes look better in photos
- Sneakers are a must (there’s a bit of hiking)
