No wonder Xuxiake visited this mountain three times! Shenxianju truly lives up to its reputation

“Its peaks are the most extraordinary in eastern Zhejiang, each rising sharply from the ground, like carved by knives and axes, beyond human ability to create.” This is how Xuxiake described Shenxianju in his travel notes, so I got up early to explore this fairyland mountain he wrote about.

🔄Tour Routes
1️⃣ Enter and exit from the South Gate (easy, about 3.5-4 hours)
South Gate entrance → Nantian Cableway up the mountain (5 minutes) → Nantian Ladder escalator → Foying Lianyun (misty fairy scenery, easy to reach near the cableway) → Turn right to Nantian Peak Glass Viewing Platform (cloud café for a break) → Nantian Bridge → Lotus Terrace (best photo spot for Guanyin Peak) → Smooth Sailing Rock → Return the same way to Nantian Cableway → Descend and exit South Gate
2️⃣ Enter from South Gate, exit from North Gate (for those with good stamina, 5-6 hours)
South Gate entrance → Nantian Cableway up → Nantian Ladder → Foying Lianyun → Nantian Peak → Nantian Bridge → Lotus Terrace → Guanyin Peak → Qingyun Ladder → Wolong Bridge → Ruyi Bridge (must-visit hanging landmark) → Yuanmeng Bridge → Niubei Mountain → Beihai Cableway down → Exit North Gate

1️⃣ It’s recommended to take the cable car; the park has free elevators, so no painful climbing;
2️⃣ There are KFC, coffee shops, and Taizhou local food on the mountain, so no need to worry about food; just bring some water and snacks;
3️⃣ Buy tickets online in advance during peak season as the park often limits visitors and tickets sell out quickly;
4️⃣ Arrive early in peak season to avoid traffic jams; late arrivals may face 3-hour cable car queues.
