Xinchang Yanbang Ancient Path

Yanbang Ancient Path was a road used by ancient private salt smugglers. Xinchang is bordered on the east by Ninghai, a salt-producing area. Private salt smugglers transported salt from Ninghai and chose small paths in the deep mountains and cold valleys. Because this path was not easily intercepted by soldiers, more and more private salt smugglers began to use it. It also became a passage for mountain people to enter and exit the mountains. Later, some people contributed money and effort to pave the road with stones and built resting pavilions. Gradually, this small path became the well-known Yanbang Ancient Path. The main trunk of the ancient path is about 20 kilometers long.
Yanbang Ancient Path has become a popular destination for nearby residents for vacation, leisure, hiking, fitness, and family outings. Especially, the nearly 6 kilometers of ancient path along the creek is the first choice for family water play in summer.
