In September of the second year of the Jogan era (960), the deity of Okishima Yakihi Shrine, Dainichiryouki-no-Mikoto, was enshrined on the top of Mount Himine, and the two deities Hikohohodemi-no-Mikoto and Hosu-seri-no-Mikoto were enshrined.

Himine Shrine has long been revered as a deity of maritime traffic safety, and today, it is deeply revered from near and far as a deity of traffic safety, business prosperity, household safety, and life rituals. On the great festival day of October 18th, Kagura is dedicated, and it is a shrine that protects and passes on history and culture without interrupting the rituals.

The flower water fountain, which is regularly replaced, is very beautiful and delights visitors.
