A British revival style building built in 1916
It was used as the prefectural office and prefectural assembly building until 1975.
It is currently open to the public for free as the Yamagata Prefectural Museum, and there is a free parking lot at the back.
I was excited to see the wonderful architecture that exudes Taisho romanticism.
It is said that the emperor waved to the citizens of the prefecture from the balcony, and the view from there was amazing.
The cherry blossoms were in full bloom🌸 and the garden was beautiful.
