🙏🏻Botahtaung Pagoda is another famous temple and historical site in Yangon, Myanmar. Located near the Yangon River, it boasts a long history that rivals Yangon.
🙏🏻Currently, this pagoda houses a relic of the Buddha's hair, enshrined in a glass-encased pavilion, which is open to the public and tourists alike.
🙏🏻The pagoda's interior features a spiraling, maze-like walkway, with walls lined with gleaming gold leaf and partitioned by glass panels. Inside, artifacts that were once housed in the original pagoda before its reconstruction are on display.
🙏🏻Thep Thanjai, also known as Nat Bo Bo Gyi, is a deity often worshipped by both Burmese and Thais, believed to grant wishes quickly. He is located on the right-hand side, separated from the pagoda.
🙏🏻Regulations: Dress appropriately and modestly. Please do not wear shoes or socks inside the pagoda area.
🙏🏻Admission fee: approximately 150 Thai baht
🙏🏻Opening hours: 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM
🙏🏻Location: Botataung Pagoda, Yangon, Myanmar
