We visited Liuzi Temple on a warm summer afternoon, and the moment we stepped through the gate, it felt like everything had slowed down 🌤️🍃. The stone courtyard radiated a gentle heat, softened by shade from old trees that leaned quietly over the walkways. The buildings, with their curved roofs and wooden beams, stood calm and steady nothing too grand, just quietly dignified. Even with a few other visitors around, it felt peaceful, like the place asked you to lower your voice and your pace.
What stayed with us most were the still moments in between the faint sound of cicadas buzzing in the trees, the carved characters on the stone steles catching light and shadow, the cool breeze that passed through the open hall where Liu Zongyuan’s statue sat in quiet thought 🏯🌬️. We lingered in a shaded pavilion, just listening to the leaves rustle overhead and letting the summer heat ease into something gentle. Liuzi Temple didn’t feel like a site to rush through more like a place to pause, reflect, and carry a little stillness with you when you leave 😊🌿.
