Kinrin Lake is named after the fact that its waters shimmer like scales under the sunlight.
The lake is as calm as a mirror and surrounded by lush forests. The changing scenery of the four seasons is intoxicating.

Kinrin Lake is most charming in the early morning, with a thin mist. The mist rising from the lake is intertwined with the surrounding scenery, like a fairyland.

The trails along the lake are perfect for a stroll. There are also some lovely little cafes and handicraft shops along the way where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while tasting local delicacies.

Kinrin Lake is located in the Yufuin hot spring area and has very convenient transportation. It is about a 20-minute walk from JR Yufuin Station. You can also take a taxi, which only takes about 5 minutes.
