Switzerland Trip | See everyone's photos of the Matterhorn

|See everyone's photos of the Matterhorn.
🚗 After paragliding in Interlaken on my European trip, I drove to the next stop on my Swiss itinerary: Zermatt. Since Zermatt is a car-free town, I stayed overnight in the neighboring town of Täsch.
🚆 I took a 15-minute train ride to Zermatt in the early morning, passing through vast stretches of mountains and clear streams (I recommend sitting on the left-hand side for the best views both ways). Of course, the highlight of visiting Zermatt is definitely the famous Matterhorn in the Alps. The first time I learned about this natural wonder was at Disneyland in California. I love the Matterhorn Bobsleds roller coaster, so I've always looked forward to seeing the Matterhorn in Switzerland.
🏞 Getting to the Matterhorn:
I took the Gornergrat Bahn to the best viewing platform for the Matterhorn. As the train slowly climbed the mountain, I could see snow-capped mountains, lush alpine meadows, and deep blue lakes along the way.
My route was to reach the highest viewing platform first and then go down, checking out each stop along the way. As soon as I stepped out of the train station, the majestic panorama of the Matterhorn unfolded before my eyes. The unique 4,478m peak soars into the sky, its perpetually snow-capped summit contrasting beautifully with the azure sky—a sight beyond words.
🌄 Best viewing spot:
Get off at Rotenboden, the second to last stop, and go through the small wooden gate in Picture 4. You can follow the path down to the reflection lake. The reflection of the Matterhorn in the shimmering water gives the mountain an even more mysterious and awe-inspiring feel!
