[Switzerland] The dreamlike upside-down Matterhorn

If you want to see the Matterhorn from Zermatt, I recommend taking the first Gornergrat Bahn train (7:00) to Rotenboden Station.
At Riffelsee, just a short walk away, the water surface is like a mirror, allowing you to capture an upside-down Matterhorn.
Mornings are windier and less crowded than during the day, making them the best time to take photos.

The key is to buy a through ticket from Zermatt to Gornergrat.
You can get off at any station along the way, so it's more economical than buying separate tickets.
You can reboard at any station you've already passed, but you can't go back to stations you've already passed.
I saw the lake first, then returned to Rotenboden Station and went to the final stop, Gornergrat, where I enjoyed the spectacular view from the observation deck.
After that, I trekked back to the lake and walked down to Riffelberg Station. From there, I took the train back to Zermatt, which is a popular route.

I walked to Zermatt, but it took quite a while and the roads were in poor condition, so I wouldn't recommend it! But it will definitely be a nice little memory ☺️
