Southwest Guizhou In-Depth Exploration: A Hidden Paradise Waiting for You to Discover!

Braving all the online complaints, we boldly took the kids to Huangguoshu.
In the end, both the elderly and children adapted better than expected.
The crowds were overwhelming, but the scenery was worth it.
The mist from the waterfall acted like a natural humidifier,
instantly soothing the hot and restless mood.
Parent-child hard-earned experience sharing:
1️⃣ The truth about priority tickets
After witnessing the scene at the regular entrance, we immediately upgraded the whole family to priority tickets! Although the rest stop cakes were in high demand, skipping the commercial street and having exclusive shuttle buses restored our energy to the max! Most importantly, carrying the child allowed direct access through the priority entrance to the Water Curtain Cave, saving 2 hours of waiting.
2️⃣ Reverse sightseeing strategy
Head straight to the main waterfall in the morning, skip the escalator and choose the walking path. The shade coverage is excellent, and the kids can count butterflies along the way. Prepare snacks to coax the kids while waiting in line for the Water Curtain Cave; it’s damp and dark inside, so hold the kids tight. After exiting, find a corner on the viewing platform for a quick photo.
3️⃣ Zen viewing rule
The main waterfall viewing platform was crowded, so we decisively retreated to the priority center to eat watermelon. The escalator line on the way back twisted like a greedy snake; for kids, walking uphill directly is recommended—it’s 20 minutes faster than waiting in line.
4️⃣ Steep Pond bonus
After resting, take the bus past the God’s Viewpoint. In front of the Steep Pond Waterfall, tell the kids stories from Journey to the West. Skip Tianxing Bridge due to narrow paths and darkness inside the cave; conserving energy is the essence of parent-child travel.
Although the kids hung on like human accessories,
and the elderly needed to find a bench every few steps,
when the waterfall spray splashed up, the whole family smiled like flowers.
Perhaps the meaning of travel is
to find shining moments amid the mess.
