【Newly Opened】Tengol Desert Resort

Nestled at the northern foot of Shapotou in Zhongwei, Tengol Desert Resort embodies the design concept of "vanishing architecture," with 22 sand-colored concrete dome rooms seamlessly embedded into shifting dunes.

Each room features 270-degree floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows and an intelligent climate control system maintaining constant humidity and oxygen levels, along with a private stargazing terrace equipped with professional astronomical telescopes. At the heart of the resort stands the "Desert Light Chapel," which replicates the architectural texture of the Western Xia Mausoleums using rammed earth techniques. At night, ground lighting projects holographic displays of the "Ancient Western Xia Music Murals."

The spa offers a unique "Sand Moxibustion Therapy," combining native mineral sands from the Tengger Desert with wolfberry extracts and poplar wood hot stone massages. The resort operates a self-sustaining ecological system, recycling 50 tons of greywater daily to irrigate 3 hectares of saxaul forests. In 2024, it received National Geographic's Global Eco-Hotel Pioneer Award.
