Dong'ao Island | A Weekend with a Seaside Never-Setting-Sun Music Show

The seaside during summer vacation 🌊 is always irresistible. This time, we chose a different coastal spot for a family getaway. We bought the ferry tickets from Hengqin to Dong'ao Island early in the morning, packed our bags, and set off!~ The 40-minute ferry ride brought us to Dong'ao Island. Upon arrival, shuttle buses from Gree Dong'ao Hotel, Zhuhai Marriott Resort Dong'ao Island, and Alila Dong'ao Island Zhuhai were waiting at the pier, making it super convenient and thoughtful ❤.

We had pre-booked a two-day, one-night family package with meals 🔖 and stayed in a family-friendly room. The room came with a toy table, a tent, and giant plush toys—our child was overjoyed the moment we stepped in. They even thoughtfully provided kids' toiletries and bath toys. My favorite part was the balcony, where we could bask in the sun and enjoy panoramic ocean views—perfect for photos!! 📷
We couldn’t waste the beautiful sunshine 🌞, so we took a loop around the island along the Romantic Coastline to soak in Dong'ao’s beauty 🏝.
✔ Take Line 3 to the final stop, "Forest Boardwalk," then 🚶 walk back to visit these spots: Forest Boardwalk → Honeymoon Park → Honeymoon Pavilion (the island’s highest point 🔝) → Vow Garden → Wedding Chapel (super photogenic) → Nansha Bay Beach (play in the water, dig for sand, and catch crabs 🦀).

🌅 Before sunset, we returned to the hotel, where our child had a blast at the kids' club—ball pits, kinetic sand, table football, and even outdoor go-karting. The outdoor pool and thalassotherapy pools were incredibly relaxing. With over a dozen pools of varying temperatures and effects, all facing the ocean, it was pure bliss!~
After enjoying the hotel’s buffet 🍽, we took a stroll 🚶 on the boardwalk to the beach right next to Gree Dong'ao Hotel 🏖. There, we caught a stunning sunset 🌅 and stumbled upon the weekend’s California Heatwave Music Party—what a vibe!
🎶 Rumor has it that the Dong'ao Never-Setting-Sun Party has a different theme every weekend from July to August! There’s even an interactive segment where you can score free drinks.

Last week, CCTV’s music concert was livestreamed from Dong'ao Island, so we followed in Zhou Jieqiong’s footsteps and recreated her itinerary. Every photo turned out amazing—perfect for families!
