Jiangnan Peacock Garden, located in Shangruan Village, Xuebu Town, Jintan City, Changzhou, has earned the title of "China's Peacock Breeding Base." With an investment exceeding 50 million yuan, the garden covers 600 mu (approximately 500 mu) of hilly terrain and 100 mu (approximately 100 mu) of water. The garden boasts a "Peacock Research Center," a "Peacock Specimen Exhibition Room," a high-end hotel, a business center, a restaurant, tennis courts, a gym, a chess and card room, the Jiangnan Jockey Club, and recreational facilities such as fishing and boating. The garden houses over 2,000 peacocks, with a birdhouse covering over 3,000 square meters and a free-range habitat covering over 50 mu (approximately 100 mu).
The Jiangnan Jockey Club, located on the southern slope of Peacock Garden, is another highlight of the park. Its equestrian performances are a feast for the eyes. Under the guidance of a horse trainer, you can saddle up and gallop across the battlefield, showcasing the prowess of a knight. From horseback, you can take in a panoramic bird's-eye view of the entire park: buildings nestled among the trees, winding paths lead to secluded paths, and the red roofs and white walls of the Bairi Altar are reflected in the sky, creating a truly picturesque and elegant scene.
The southwest corner of the Bairi Altar is home to the park's Science Corner. 4,800 solar tubes form a 600-square-meter solar heat absorption surface. Ten 18-meter-tall wind turbines, alternating in height and interlacing in brilliance, create a majestic spectacle. This is a green, eco-tourism, and harmless energy destination, and a hub for science education for elementary and middle school students. The Peacock Garden also serves as a natural oxygen bar, shaded by over 20 rare species, ensuring a perennially verdant landscape.
In the exhibition hall, there are nearly a hundred specimens of peacocks, eagles and golden pheasants, allowing you to see the heroic posture of an eagle spreading its wings, the peaceful and beautiful figure of a peacock, and the dynamic appearance of a golden pheasant ready to jump.
Subtropical monsoon climate; the Peacock Garden integrates peacock research, specimen making, breeding and reproduction. It is the largest peacock breeding base in Jiangnan and is suitable for travel in all seasons.
