Tianning Pagoda is located in Tianning Temple in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. The pagoda is 13 stories high and 153.79 meters high, making it the tallest of the more than 4,000 pagodas in China. There are four elevators in the pagoda, which can go directly to the 12th floor. The 13th floor is the highest floor on the pagoda where you can enjoy the scenery and overlook the beautiful scenery of Changzhou.

From the underground palace to the bell tower, the entire pagoda is centered on Buddhist culture, employing handicrafts such as Dongyang woodcarving, Yangzhou lacquerware, Changzhou free-stitch embroidery, and Hui'an stone carving to skillfully interpret the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism. The pagoda's completion echoes the Yungang Giant Buddha in the north, the Longmen Giant Buddha in the Central Plains, the Leshan Giant Buddha in the west, the Lingshan Giant Buddha in the east, and the Tian Tan Buddha in Hong Kong in the south, becoming the heart of the Five Buddhas of the Five Directions.

The exterior of Tianning Pagoda adopts the style of ancient pagodas from the Tang and Song dynasties: octagonal eaves, dignified shape, simple and rugged, and grand; the decoration of the tower body also follows the style of Tang and Song dynasty architecture: luxurious but not complicated, simple yet grand. Although it lacks the beauty of carved beams and painted rafters, it has an antique charm and exudes a sense of solemnity.
