Wenbi Tower, located at the southern end of Hongmei Park, was built during the Southern Qi and Liang dynasties, making it over a thousand years old and the oldest surviving structure in Changzhou. Resembling a writing brush, it is nicknamed " Pen Soul " by Changzhou residents . The tower's elegant form is truly captivating. Song Dynasty poet Yang Wanli coined the line, " The ancient Taiping Temple lies in ashes, the setting sun barely illuminating the lonely tower . "

The tower is a brick and wood structure with seven levels and eight sides. Each level features an arched entrance, and a spiral staircase leads to the upper reaches. Atop the tower rests a 1,500- kilogram bronze gourd. From the tower, panoramic views of the entire city are unobstructed. The Wenbi Tower, with its elegant and unique shape, ethereal form, and distinctive style, stands out among ancient towers.
