The former site of He Long's headquarters was originally the Hongdao Hall of the Anglican Church of China, an ancient building with a combination of Chinese and Western styles. In late July 1927, He Long led the 20th Army of the National Revolutionary Army into Nanchang to participate in the Nanchang Uprising. The army headquarters was set up in Hongdao Hall, and some leaders of the uprising lived in the small building behind Hongdao Hall. Many important meetings for planning the uprising were held here. In the early morning of August 1, 1927, He Long, Liu Bocheng and Zhou Yiqu commanded the armed uprising here.
The former site of He Long's headquarters is located at 85 Zigu Road in Nanchang. Within the compound are two buildings: one housed the 20th Army headquarters, and the other served as He Long's office and bedroom, as well as the residences of Liu Bocheng, Yun Daiying, and others. Formerly the Hongdao Hall of the Anglican Church of China, this historic building blends Chinese and Western influences. The third-floor windows of the building still bear the marks of enemy artillery shells, a vivid record of the fierce fighting during the uprising. A small building on the site houses a recreation of an officers' meeting room, and the lobby features an exhibition titled "The Life of Marshal He Long," showcasing his glorious and combative life through numerous artifacts and images.
With a subtropical monsoon climate, the He Long Command Headquarters is one of the former sites of the "August 1st Nanchang Uprising" and is located at No. 165 Zigu Road, Nanchang City. In 1961, it was officially announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is suitable for travel in all seasons.
In the backyard stands a two-story Western-style building with a floor area of 1,850 square meters.
