Yuxiu Bridge, also known as the Yushui Bridge, is located on the Yushui River at the southern end of Hancheng Ancient City. The bridge runs north-south and is built entirely of granite strips. It has 10 arched spans, 180 meters long, and a deck width of 4.5 meters.
The Yuxiu Bridge's piers are spindle-shaped, its base paved with stone, and its arched deck reinforced with iron ingots embedded between the stone crevices. Stone railings flank the bridge, with 101 east-facing and 99 west-facing balusters, their capitals carved with melons and fruits. Seated stone figures wearing snow-capped hats symbolize guardianship, each end of the railings. Each archway features a stone dragon head carved in exquisite detail. Construction began in 1702, the 41st year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty, with donations from Liu Yinshu, a local resident (former Governor of Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces), and took five years to complete.
The warm temperate continental monsoon climate offers four distinct seasons and abundant sunshine, making it suitable for travel in all seasons.
It is recommended to play for about 15 minutes.
