Carter Pres. Museum + Aquarium + Olympic Park, hotel??
Hello! We have two nights - only planning to see the Carter Presidental Museum, Aquarium and Olympic Park ... WILL have a car.
Where to stay?
It sounds like you're planning a great short trip to Atlanta with some fantastic attractions on your list! Since you'll be visiting the Carter Presidential Museum, Georgia Aquarium, and Olympic Park, I recommend staying in or near downtown Atlanta to make the most of your two days. Here are some hotel options based on proximity to these attractions, as well as convenient parking for your car:
1. Downtown Atlanta Hotels (Walking Distance to Attractions)
Staying in downtown Atlanta will give you the advantage of being close to all three of your destinations, with the added benefit of being able to walk between attractions (though some may still be a short drive away). Here are some great options:
- Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown – This stylish hotel is within walking distance of the Georgia Aquarium, Olympic Park, and a short drive to the Carter Presidential Museum. It's a modern hotel with great amenities and parking options.
- The Westin Peachtree Plaza – Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, The Westin is a bit further from the Carter Museum, but still close to the Aquarium and Olympic Park. The hotel offers great views of the city and easy access to local attractions.
- Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center – Just steps away from Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, and other attractions, this hotel is one of the most convenient options in downtown. It's perfect if you want to minimize driving during your stay.
- Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta – For a more luxurious stay, the Ritz-Carlton is a great option with high-end amenities. While it’s a bit more upscale, it’s still very close to your main destinations and offers valet parking for convenience.
2. Midtown Atlanta Hotels (Short Drive to Attractions)
If you don't mind a short drive, Midtown is another great neighborhood with lots of dining and entertainment options. It's a lively area and still very close to the attractions you're planning to visit. Here are a couple of hotels you can consider:
- Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center – Located near the Georgia Tech campus, this hotel offers great rates and is just a short drive to downtown attractions. It’s perfect if you're looking for a quieter area while still being close to everything.
- Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta – Another luxury option, the Four Seasons is a short drive from downtown and provides a peaceful atmosphere with excellent amenities. It’s a bit farther from Olympic Park, but still within reach by car.
3. Parking & Transportation
Since you’ll have a car, make sure to check the hotel parking options before booking. Many downtown hotels offer valet parking, but some may charge a daily fee. If you don’t mind walking a little, some hotels offer less expensive self-parking options or nearby parking garages.
- Public Transportation: If you're not keen on driving every day, MARTA (the public transit system) is a good option for getting around downtown, and some hotels offer shuttle services to nearby attractions.
In summary, staying in downtown Atlanta will give you the best access to the Carter Presidential Museum, Georgia Aquarium, and Centennial Olympic Park. If you're looking for convenience and easy access to these major attractions, consider hotels like Hotel Indigo, the Omni Atlanta Hotel, or The Westin Peachtree Plaza. For a slightly quieter stay, Midtown Atlanta offers some excellent options too, such as the Four Seasons or Georgia Tech Hotel. Enjoy your trip!
