Virgin Atlantic Sale
Hi,
We have been holding off booking flights for next year via Virgin until the post Christmas/new year sale started. The Virgin website states the sale has started but shows only £100 off. Previous years we have had much bigger discounts when we booked at this time of the year. Anyone any experience or thoughts ?
Thanks
Dave
It sounds like you're experiencing some confusion about Virgin Atlantic’s current sale, especially since previous years had much bigger discounts. It’s true that around Christmas and New Year, Virgin Atlantic traditionally offers significant sales, but this year's offer of £100 off may feel underwhelming in comparison. Here are some possible reasons for this and suggestions for how to approach it:
- Sale May Be Limited: It’s possible that the sale this year is more limited in scope, with smaller discounts available compared to previous years. Some airlines have adjusted their sale structures due to the financial impacts of the pandemic and increased demand for travel in certain regions. £100 off could be a starting offer for certain routes, and more substantial discounts may appear later.
- Check for Specific Routes or Dates: The sale might offer larger discounts on certain routes or during off-peak travel periods. Sometimes, the biggest savings come when booking flights to specific destinations or for travel during less busy times of the year. Try looking at various dates or destinations within the sale to see if there are better deals.
- Sign Up for Alerts: If the sale isn't giving you the discounts you’re hoping for, consider signing up for Virgin Atlantic’s newsletter or setting up price alerts. This way, you’ll be notified when better offers are released or when the prices drop closer to your desired travel dates.
- Contact Customer Service: Sometimes sales or discounts are only visible for certain account holders or via specific links. Contacting Virgin Atlantic’s customer service team could help clarify whether there are any additional offers or codes available that aren’t immediately visible on the website.
- Compare with Other Airlines: If the sale doesn’t meet your expectations, it might be worth comparing Virgin Atlantic's offer with those of other airlines. Especially during post-Christmas sales, many other airlines also offer promotions, so you might find a better deal elsewhere.
It’s always worth waiting a bit longer if you’re not seeing the discounts you expected, as airlines tend to release more offers closer to the actual sale period or post-holiday season. Good luck with your booking!
