MGM and Bally's Tier Level Questions

Hi Y'all!!

So played mostly at CET properties in Vegas for years - chasing Diamond and comped rooms, and spread that to New Orleans, Tunica, Indiana, Illinois, etc. Recently I decided to stop worrying about CET as they never give any free play or anything and even Four Winds in Michigan gives me 100+ free play every time I go and Hard Rock was giving me $50 a day for the last couple months and free food. Bally's gave me $50 or $75 free play for the days I was there and comped almost my whole stay in AC. CET gave me $5 free play once last year. Yikes. So now I am Superstar level at Bally's in AC - I cannot really see what the real benefit is? The rooms are not comped at all, I have zero free play and I am not sure what the point of having this level is? I feel Bally's is tanking. I cannot see what the benefit even is for having this level? Does anyone tier match Ballys?

Now for MGM I almost never play, but I stay at a real lot of Marriott's and made it to Gold Level? If I tier match at MGM where will they put me? I Googled and it seems like they do tier match, but another issue I don't have my MGM card anymore- I lost it and no MGM properties exist anywhere near me. I tried to Tier match online but I don't have a current card. Has anyone tier matched and gotten offers? I was looking at seeing what MGM properties offer before I book another trip.

Sorry for all the random questions.

Hi there! It sounds like you've had quite the journey with casino loyalty programs, and I can understand your frustration with Bally’s and CET, especially after the experiences you've had with better comps and free play at places like Four Winds and Hard Rock.

Let's break this down a bit and address your questions regarding both Bally’s and MGM.

Bally's Superstar Level in AC
Regarding your question about Bally’s Superstar level, it’s true that sometimes players hit higher tiers only to feel that the benefits don’t align with their expectations. Bally’s can be a bit tricky because while they offer decent perks at times, the actual rewards—such as free rooms and consistent free play—can be lacking, especially compared to other casinos you mentioned. It sounds like you might not be getting as much value from your Superstar status as you’d like, and that’s frustrating given the amount of play you're putting in.

Here are some things to consider with Bally’s:

  • Tier Benefits: While you’re technically a Superstar, it might be worth reaching out directly to their customer service or VIP department. Sometimes, higher-tier players don’t automatically get the full benefits unless they're explicitly requested or confirmed by a casino host.
  • Free Play & Comped Rooms: These can sometimes be more generous if you specifically ask for offers when booking or checking in. You may also be able to negotiate a better rate by speaking directly with a host or management.
  • Tier Matching: As for tier matching, Bally’s might be more open to matching your status with other properties, but keep in mind that they might require you to have a current offer or recent play data. If you feel Bally’s isn’t working for you, you could always reach out to MGM or other casinos for a potential tier match.

MGM Gold Level and Tier Matching
Now, as for MGM and your Marriott Gold status, tier matching is definitely possible, but losing your MGM card complicates things a bit. Here’s what you should know:

  • Tier Matching Process: MGM does tier match with a variety of loyalty programs, including Marriott Bonvoy Gold, but they typically require proof of your current status, such as a screenshot of your Bonvoy account or a copy of your Marriott membership card. You can usually do this online by submitting your current status information to MGM’s "M Life" program.
  • Without an MGM Card: If you’ve lost your card and there’s no MGM property nearby, you can still contact MGM’s customer service or their online support team. Explain your situation, and they might be able to assist you in retrieving or replacing your card, or they may allow you to submit your tier match request without needing your card number.
  • MGM Tier Match Offers: Once you complete the tier match process, MGM will typically place you in the "Sapphire" or "Gold" tier based on your Marriott status, with varying benefits. Since you're Gold with Marriott, you could potentially start with "Gold" in the M Life program, which would give you perks like priority check-in, discounts on rooms and dining, and a few other benefits, though it won't be quite as high as their top tiers (like Platinum or Noir).

Ultimately, MGM is a strong loyalty program with solid benefits, especially if you plan to visit their properties in Las Vegas or elsewhere. And as you mentioned, contacting them directly about your lost card is the best way to ensure you can still apply for tier matching without needing to visit an MGM property in person.

Final Thoughts:
If Bally’s isn’t offering the perks you were hoping for, it might be time to consider reaching out for a tier match elsewhere (like MGM or Caesars, if you plan to go back to them). Even if you have to switch loyalty programs, the offers and rewards could align better with your expectations. Best of luck with your tier matching process and future casino trips!
