Not far from the Taj Mahal lies another marvel that often gets overshadowed โ the mighty Agra Fort. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a massive 16th-century fortress that once served as the center of Mughal power.
Built mainly by Emperor Akbar, later beautified by Shah Jahan, the fort is packed with palaces, mosques, secret passageways, and tales of royal politics. ๐น From here, emperors ruled over a vast empire, and historic decisions that shaped India were made.
๐ The fort offers stunning views of the Taj Mahal from its balconies โ especially the spot where Shah Jahan was held captive, watching his beloved monument across the river.
Walk through Jahangiri Mahal, Khas Mahal, Anguri Bagh, and the Moti Masjid โ each space tells a different story with beautiful architecture and carvings.
