The Akita Museum of Art

#asiabudgetchallenge
The Akita Museum of Art, stands at the edge of Senshū Park in Akita City. Housed in a striking triangular concrete building designed by Tadao Ando, the museum showcases Tsuguharu Foujita’s monumental The Events of Akita, alongside rotating exhibitions in two galleries.

Admission is ¥310 for adults (¥210 for university students; free for high-school and younger).

Travel Tip: After exploring the artwork, pause at the café overlooking the water garden with views of Senshū Park. The entrance hall’s spiral staircase and triangular skylight are photo-worthy highlights—arrive early for soft natural light and fewer crowds.
