- WatSemianNari was built around 2400 B.E. or if compared to the present, it is almost two hundred years ago. WatSemianNari was first established by the person who held the position of Clerk of the Royal Treasury (Mr.Semian Kham). It was originally known as Wat Krai and was granted by the King to use the area to build the Ubosot.

- Later, during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), the construction of the temple was completed and the care was transferred from Mr.Semian Kham to Ms. Thao Phanthasarnurak, his daughter. King Rama V therefore gave the temple a new name, 'WatSemianNari', around 2522 B.E. to honor those who built and maintained this temple.
