Zhenjue Temple Vajrasana Pagoda. Wuta Temple was originally named "Zhenjue Temple." It is located on the north bank of the Changhe River, east of Baishiqiao, Xizhimenwai, Haidian District, Beijing. It was built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty (1403–1424). There are five small stone pagodas on a high stone platform in the temple. The Vajrasana Pagoda of Wuta Temple is a Buddhist pagoda in the form of the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, India (a memorial pagoda built at the site of the Buddha's enlightenment). Among the more than ten similar pagodas in China, the Vajrasana Pagoda of Wuta Temple is one of the earliest and most beautiful in style. It is a representative work of Ming Dynasty architecture and stone carving art, and a model of the combination of Chinese and foreign cultures.
