The 54th Chengdu International Panda Lantern Festival

The Chengdu International Panda Lantern Festival is one of Chengdu's iconic winter events, offering a large-scale lantern exhibition that combines tradition and modernity in the heart of the city. Held from January to early March 2025 at Gangtan Park in Chengdu's High-Tech Zone, the festival featured various panda-themed installations that captivated visitors. These weren't just ordinary panda-shaped lanterns; they included pandas performing face-changing acts, pandas playing tug-of-war, and pandas embodying traditional myths, adding an extra layer of fun and intrigue. The lights were illuminated after sunset, transforming the entire park into a dazzling spectacle. In addition to the lanterns, light shows and sculptures provided plenty to see, attracting many families and couples. The event was free with a reservation system, making it accessible, and shuttle buses added convenience. It was a great event for leisurely strolls and enjoying the night scenery.
