Wat Chedi Yot, Royal Monastery, Chiang Mai

🛕 Wat Chet Yot or Wat Photharam Wihan is an ancient temple in Chiang Mai. It is believed to have been built in the 8th-12th Buddhist century. It is similar to the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya in India. It has 7 spires in 1 stupa.

✨️ The base of the stupa is decorated with stucco patterns of deities and angels. The outside is decorated with figures of angels sitting cross-legged and standing in royal attire. This temple also has important ancient sites such as the Chedi of Phra Chao Tilokarat, the pavilion, and other ancient stupas.

🧏♀️ It is also the temple where the 8th world Tripitaka was recited, the first in Thailand. It is considered a principle of practice for monks in Lanna. Therefore, it is very important for studying historical learning resources.
