Wat Jed Yod is a third-class royal temple, common type. It was formerly called Wat Photharammahawihan. It is an important ancient temple in Chiang Mai Province. It was built by King Tilokarat, the King of the Mangrai Dynasty of Lanna, in 1998 and invited Phra Uttamapanya Mahathera to be the first abbot along with planting the Bodhi tree, he named the temple Photharam Mahawihan. however, because the temple has seven Chedis, people generally call it. Wat Jed Yod. The temple is made of laterite decorated with stucco patterns, similar to the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya, India. The base of figures of deities all around, both sitting cross-legged and standing in different patterns. The Mahabodhi Chedi is Bodh Gaya is considered the sacred relic of the year of birth of the Snake according to the beliefs of the Lanna people.
