.. Built in 1874 during the reign of Phraya Rattana Anan (Chao Un Ruean), Chiang Rai City Chronicles, Chiang Rai City Restoration Era
.. The original City Navel Pillar was located to the southeast of Wat Klang Wiang, not the current location. It is shaped like a pumpkin-shaped stupa with a high top. It is approximately 6 cubits in diameter and 8 cubits high. A pavilion was built to cover it.
.. Every year, there is a tradition of putting flowers in a bowl and paying homage to the City Navel Pillar for good fortune of the city and its people.
