North Lounge at New Chitose Airport

After passing through the security check, I walked a little further and saw the sign 'NORTH LOUNGE.'
As I pushed open the glass door and stepped inside, the noise from outside abruptly ceased. It was quiet. Not the bustling atmosphere typical of an airport, but rather a calm, almost library-like air.
At the counter near the entrance, I showed my card, and the staff gave a slight nod and said, 'どうぞ' (Please, go ahead).
Walking a few more steps inside, I found wooden-toned tables calmly arranged under warm lighting. Sitting by the window, I could see the runway in the distance, where a small airplane was slowly turning and moving.
The lounge was quiet.
Some were typing on their laptops, while others were taking a short nap.
Instead of voices, only the faint sound of cups being placed down could be heard.
Amidst this, I took a sip of coffee and thought to myself,
'Ah, I’m really leaving now.'
The warmth of that single sip mixed with the airport's atmosphere, creating a peculiar blend of excitement and a tinge of wistfulness, completing the feeling.
The North Lounge was such a place.
Not particularly extraordinary, but the brief moment of tranquility it offered lingered in an oddly lasting way.
