Erhai Lake

Location: Dali, Yunnan. A freshwater lake on the plateau, about 130 km around the lake.

1. **Cycling around the lake**: We recommend the west ecological corridor (Cai Village-Panxi section), where you can enjoy the idyllic scenery and the blue of Erhai Lake.
2. **Must-see attractions**: Shuanglang Ancient Town (seaside cafes), Xizhou Ancient Town (paddy fields + tie-dye), Xiaoputuo (seagulls in winter).
3. **Sunrise/sunset**: Watch the sunrise at Longkan Pier and the sunset at Wase Pier.
4. **Food**: Sour and spicy fish, rushan (an acquired taste), Xizhou baba. We recommend trying Bai cuisine.

🚗 **Transportation**
- **Plane/high-speed rail**: Direct to Dali, then take a taxi/bus to Erhai Lake (about 1 hour).
- **Around the lake**: Rent an electric bike (CNY 50–80/day), charter a car (CNY 300–500/day), or drive yourself.

1. Sun protection! The ultraviolet rays are strong on the plateau, so sunglasses and hats are essential.
