Sunlight fills the room, and Boxin Yun She hides gentle little joys

Dali's sunshine is always especially gentle. This time, staying at Boxin Yun She·MCA completely immersed me in the soft moments of this ancient city. Waking up in the morning, sunlight floods the room, wooden furniture is edged with a golden glow, and the air carries the scent of sunshine—truly a little happiness in itself!

📍Perfect Location
The hotel is right on Wenxian Road at the South Gate of Dali Ancient City, just a 3-minute walk to Renmin Road in the old town. It's super convenient for night market strolls and street food at night. What I love most is its peaceful spot amid the bustle—you can enjoy the lively atmosphere of the ancient city and instantly switch to a secluded mode when back at the hotel.

🛏️Living in the Sunshine
The room design totally matches my aesthetic! Floor-to-ceiling windows provide free sunshine all day long, with natural wood furniture paired with white walls—every snapshot looks like an Instagram masterpiece. The bedding is so skin-friendly you won’t want to get up, and the bathroom even offers exclusive towels and slippers you can take with you—detail lovers will be thrilled.

🌸Romance in the Courtyard
You must check out their courtyard! A Chinese garden style with blue skies and white clouds, swings, tea tables, and a rooftop garden—all perfect for photos. I shot from sunrise to sunset here; a nine-grid post just isn’t enough. At night, the butler brings hot milk and fresh flower cakes, making Dali’s nights instantly tender.

🍜Dining at Yun She
The Yunnan rice noodles at breakfast kept me coming back for three days straight without getting tired of them. Afternoon tea features authentic Xizhou baba (a local snack). The best part is you can book in-room dining service—having breakfast facing Cangshan Mountain is truly worth the room price.

🚶🏻Nearby Activities
• 2-minute walk to the South Gate of the Ancient City
• 15-minute taxi ride to Caicun Pier to watch the Erhai Lake sunrise
• The hotel provides a free hand-drawn map of the ancient city, and following the butler’s recommended off-the-beaten-path routes makes exploring and eating super easy

💡Tips for Staying
• It’s recommended to choose rooms on the 2nd floor or above for better lighting
• Visiting in the off-season offers great value, with sunny rooms available for just over 400 RMB per person

During my days in Dali, Boxin Yun She became my warmest refuge. Those mornings kissed awake by sunlight, cherry blossoms drifting in the courtyard, and the butler’s handwritten goodnight cards are memories of Dali I will cherish for a long time.
