How to start journey through gorgeous Yunnan province? Dali is the answer. Located in the mountains on almost 2000m above sea level. Coming to Dali is fairly easy, by bus, train or plane. It s close to Kunming so you can easily grab a transfer. Dali is amazing place for little bit slower pace vacation. If you accommodate yourself close to Dali ancient city, almost all the attractions will be close to you. I would recommend you to rent a bike preferably with range of 200km, so you can easily travel everywhere. One of the tours i would recommend for one whole day is ride around whole Erhai lake, and visiting every village. Scenery is absolutely wonderful. During the day or even better during sunset. You can also visit butterfly springs, three Pagodas on your way around lake :). Changshan mountain is place where you can hike or enjoy cableway ride to 3 scenic areas. At the end of the day you can enjoy relaxing walk through ancient city and enjoy delicious food and explore bars.
