Direct by bus, the maple leaves are at their best in this free park in Dalian, a great place to enjoy autumn colors

Dalian has quite a few places to see maple leaves, and today I recommend a great free spot for maple viewing: Baiyun Yanshui Fitness Park.

This autumn has been especially cold, and several continuous rains have knocked down many maple leaves. The Maple Avenue near the entrance has lost all its leaves this year, which is a pity for this most photogenic maple path, but further inside there are still plenty of maple leaves at their peak.

Entering through the main gate, you can see a few tall maple trees not far away, their red leaves blazing and particularly vibrant.

Further ahead, there are a few more patches of maple leaves. Although the area is not large, it’s still very beautiful for photos. Since the leaves on the maple path have all fallen, visitors have gathered here to take pictures this year.

Clusters of three to five trees attract visitors to take photos under each tree, especially around 3 p.m. when the sunlight shines warmly. It is recommended to come for photos around 3 p.m. as the sunlight is soft, and the reds, yellows, greens, and blue sky create a colorful and stunning scene.

This is a free maple viewing spot with fairly convenient bus access. You can take bus routes 525, 529, or 715 and get off at the Forest Zoo stop. The park’s main gate is very prominent, so you can enter directly.

Here, there are not only courts but also a fitness plaza and a babbling water system. Over 3,000 trees of more than 100 species have been planted, creating scenic views all year round and flowers in three seasons. Now is the best time to enjoy the maple leaves.

If you come here just for the maple leaves, you will miss out on more autumn beauty. Besides the maples, you can stroll along the lake boardwalk, breathe fresh air, enjoy the lake and mountain scenery, and listen to wild birds singing—a harmonious and beautiful picture of nature. It’s truly a great place for autumn sightseeing and leisure.
