Terelj National Park is located about 65km northeast of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. It is one of the most famous nature reserves in Mongolia, and you can enjoy various natural landscapes such as vast grasslands, rock formations, rivers, forests, and hot springs.
It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993, and Mt. Yeolt, which I visited, is located in Terelj National Park and is 2,100m above sea level. It means ‘a mountain with many mountain goats.’ There is a wolf statue on the peak of Mt. Yeolt, and it took about two hours for a round trip.
The scenery was so beautiful that I didn’t get bored the whole time I was trekking, and it was really great.
