[Hokkaido: Hakodate] Stroll through Goryokaku Park in spring

Goryokaku is a rare star-shaped fortress (bastion-style castle) in Japan and is designated as one of Japan's 100 Great Castles.

It is now a park and is used as a place to relax.

Every year during Golden Week, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom and it is very beautiful.

Early mornings are recommended for taking photos as there are fewer people.

There are several ways to get there, such as taking a 15-minute shuttle bus from JR Hakodate Station to Goryokaku Tower or a 10-minute walk from the entrance to Goryokaku Park.

Information as of May 2022.
