The most popular attraction in Hakone: Hakone Shrine Underwater Torii⛩️

There are many guides online saying that you should come early in the morning so you don’t have to spend so much time taking photos. If you will stay in Hakone for two days, you might want to consider this.

My plan is a one-day tour, following the following itinerary:
Owakudani➡️Pirate sightseeing boat tour of Lake Ashi➡️Hakone Shrine

After taking a pirate sightseeing boat tour, you can get off at Moto-Hakone Port and walk to Hakosou Shrine. The most famous one is the underwater torii, but as expected, around 5 o’clock, there were crowds of people queuing up to take photos. Basically, we waited in line for at least half an hour until it was dark 🙂↔️🙂↔️⛩️

Transportation: If you depart from Shinjuku, it is recommended to purchase the Hakone Freepass, which comes in 2-day and 3-day passes. In addition to the round-trip train ticket from Shinjuku to Hakone, the pass also includes most of the transportation in Hakone (aerial cable car, mountain cable car, pirate sightseeing ship, mountain bus), allowing you to experience Hakone in different ways.
