Ton Kaew Temple (Inthrawas Temple)

"Wat Ton Kwen" is an ancient temple with a very beautiful appearance. The interesting thing is the four-sided pavilion, which is the only one found in the North. In addition, the original Lanna art in this temple is considered a complete and valuable prototype.

Built around C.S. 1218 (B.E. 2399-2412) during the reign of King Kawilorot Suriyawong, the 6th ruler of Chiang Mai, it is a temple with a complete and beautiful original Lanna architectural style and art. The Association of Siamese Architects announced it as an outstanding conservation building in B.E. 2532. The name of Wat Ton Kwen comes from the name of the wild takhop tree in the temple area. Later, the name was changed to "Wat Inthawas".
